About Me!
My name is Ashley Rodriguez. I was born in Puerto Rico and lived in Appleton, Wisconsin for five years. Since I was a child I was raised by my mother who had the custody and was separate from my dad. I grew up in a small house near my grandma’s house in Santa Elena, Bayamon. In my family in total I have one brother and three sisters. Two of my sisters are from part of my dad and my stepmother. I have a twin sister and a brother who is part of my mom but not from the same dad. The three of us lived with my mom until we got to Wisconsin. After I’d studied for a few years in Wisconsin I and my sister decided to move to Puerto Rico and live with my dad. It was a hard decision but we decided that we had to give my dad the opportunity to have us and enjoy us. First, when we had to go to court and speak up to the judge about what we really wanted, our life changed. As a matter of fact, my mother has never talked to us after that day and I guess she feels resentful from the situation that she had to go through. I still love my mom and miss her a lot and every time I have the chance I call her to see how she does. She moved to Florida with my brother and is where she actually lives right now. A few years later, we moved from my dad house to my aunt house because we were feeling unhappy. My stepmother actually didn't felt comfortable having my sister and me living with them so we decided to give them some space alone. Right now I and my twin sister live together with my aunt. We both assisted to the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. Later she changed to another university and I stay at the UPR. She couldn't keep up with the hard work and for that matter she decided to go. Now I’m a student from the UPR and want to be a professional English teacher. I still have two more years so I can finish my bachelor’s degree but I’m really committed with this important part in my life. This is a small peek at my life and if you‘re wondering or interested more about it you can feel freely to ask me.
