Parents buy Disney movies to their kids to entertain them but don’t know the hidden message behind them. Children may be for hours watching a film while parents are working on house duties. In the mean time, these kids learn the ideas that Disney movies portrays. After watching the documentary about Disney I was very impressed to the critics that many researches made about Disney hidden messages. If it wasn’t for this documentary I wouldn’t be able to know the truth behind Disney World.  I used to believe that Disney movies were made for children as to teach them positive messages but then this documentary concern me about the negative ideas that children are receiving. I could not believe that such ideas as race and gender expectations were behind this movies. This really made a click to me when in the documentary they examine the movie Beauty and the Beast. They discussed how girls are expected to be when they are being treated aggressively by a man. For example, in the part where the beast goes to the room and asks belle to have dinner with him and she refuses, we see how aggressive he gets. Although, belle is concern about he’s aggressiveness, she persists on trying to find his tender side. I see this as if teaching girls to accept patterns of violence from a man because deeply inside he’s not what he is indicating and showing to be like.  This documentary talks about many Disney movies that have hidden messages like the one just mentioned where it is valued the high presence of different roles and expectations of woman and men. If parents get informed about the serious meaning that this movies have on children’s learning they would not buy them anymore. Although, if you ask me I say that we are constantly being influenced by any kind of media from our childhood and as we grow and that is something we can’t change but to be concern later on in life.
